Great location, apartment could do with some tweaks, not great for three people. Positive: The location of the rooftop apartment was really great, in a perfect position for exploring Malaga. Particularly near the old town and lots of local eateries but the beaches are also not too far away. The roof terrace was great, a proper sun trap which is well equipped for sitting out and enjoying the weather. The space itself was lovely. It was really modern and the bathroom was very new. It was also very clean and had plenty of utensils, and kitchen appliances which would make it suitable for a longer stay too. Negative: Checking in wasn't clear. We were given a code to a lockbox but we weren't told that the lockbox was actually located further up the street. This wasn't ideal as we checked in at 2am (due to flight times) and were in an unfamiliar area. Luckily the team were really responsive and video called us to help us locate the lockbox and get in safely but the instructions definitely could have been clearer. The digital key for the apartment took some getting used to but worked well once we got used to it. With some small tweaks, the apartment itself would be lovely but it is run down in parts and some things could be better. We bought breakfast items to cook in, but unfortunately couldn't get the induction hob working therefore most of this was wasted. There were no instructions for this which was incredibly frustrating. The double bed was really creaky and loud so whenever one person moved it woke the other person. The sofa bed was bumpy and very uncomfortable, making me question whether the apartment is set up to sleep three people comfortably. The air conditioning units were incredibly loud - and not only when on, they made lots of noises through the night that kept us up, almost as if faulty. The loungers on the upstairs roof terrace were covered in bird poo so we had to use extra towels for these. The cover hadn't been properly applied to the hot tub so lots of flies were in and there was lots of standing water on the terrace. The outdoor tables were all rickety and wonky, could do with upgrading. Unfortunately, there were two power cuts whilst we were staying. One the morning after arrival. And the one the morning we checked out. This couldn't be helped but it did impact our stay (although I believe this was a wider issue, not just the apartment block).

I would never book with REMS again. Positive: The bedroom and bathroom were nice enough Negative: Extremely disappointing stay and not at all what was advertised. We chose this property based on the photographs and facilities advertised on Booking.com, particularly the hot tub, which were heavily edited. Unfortunately, the accommodation we arrived at was very different from the impression created by the listing. Within hours of arrival, we discovered a significant ant infestation in the kitchen and reported it immediately. Ants were present around food storage and preparation areas, making the kitchen unusable for its intended purpose during our stay. The hot tub and patio was one of the main reasons we booked the property, which was also unusable. When hot tub switched on, components detached and floated in the water. The hot tub and surrounding area appeared poorly maintained and were very unclean. Despite reporting the issue immediately, no meaningful action was taken until Thursday afternoon (arrived Tuesday) The hot tub was then drained and remained unavailable for the remainder of our stay. As we left on Friday morning, we were unable to use one of the property’s key advertised features for virtually the entire holiday. The overall condition of the property fell well below expectations. Outdoor furniture showed signs of rust, loungers were worn and deteriorated, and surfaces around the outdoor area were dirty and stained. The photographs on the listing present a much cleaner, better maintained and more appealing property than the one we encountered. What was most frustrating was that the issues were reported immediately, supported with photographs, yet were not resolved during our stay. For a short break costing approximately £450, losing use of both the kitchen and the hot tub significantly affected the value of the accommodation and our enjoyment of the holiday. While compensation was eventually offered, it did not reflect the extent to which our stay was impacted.

Positive: Roof top jacuzzi was perfect. Negative: Location wasn’t the cleanest environment outside but that’s nothing to do with the inside of the property

Positive: We liked the rooftop an enjoyed it during the sunny weather, The appartment is small - but fits well for 2persons. Negative: Furniture could use an upgrade. The bed and sofa were very hard and not comfortable,, and the rooftop lounge furniture were very ready for a change.

Paid for a jacuzzi we could not use + no fair compensation. Positive: location is near the city centre Negative: The jacuzzi did not work upon arrival it was not usable. We contacted the property multiple times and were asked to send videos, but no one came to assist us on-site. It eventually turned out that the jacuzzi needed to be refilled with water, which was not explained anywhere. This situation took several hours of our vacation time and after that, it still took almost 5 hours to heat up to a comfortable temperature and was only ready late in the evening. When we finally could use it, the neighbor yelled through the fence that we were not allowed to use it due to noise from the jacuzzi. As a result, we were unable to use the jacuzzi at all during the first night stay, even though this was the main reason we booked this accommodation. So first hours in Malaga gone + no romantic night with bubbles + money completely wasted. Not even to mention that the check-in instructions were incorrect, as the key was not in the indicated lockbox in the photo instructions. induction cooktop was locked with no explanation on how to unlock it to use, which required yet another call to the property. On top of all this unfortunately, the property was not willing to offer a fair compensation (after we had to follow up ourselves to get any response regarding a solution), which we found very very disappointing. We would not recommend staying here or return ourselves. Booking.com ended up offering a reasonable solution, but this property refused to reach to an agreement. Even if a proper compensation had been offered, it would still not have made up for the time lost and the stress caused. However a fair and proactive resolution would have been the least to expect from a professional property.
