Villa with heated Pool by the beach & port | REMS

Good family location Positive: Good location , very good facilities Negative: There were road works taking place during the last 2 days of our stay

Damp and dirty dwelling Positive: The pictures were the best thing about the property. Negative: Issues from the moment we arrived. Place was evidently suffering from extreme dampness (pictures show the clear rising damp moving up through the structure). Horrible odour of dampness within the house alongside the feeling of damp linen, bedding, etc. Absolutely unmistakable. Spoke to the management company who defiantly denied there was an issue and that their maintenance team had THOROUGHLY checked the property in advance of check-in, however, after sending them clear pictures of all the damp around the property (inside and out) - hidden behind all the couches, beds, showers not evaporating for hours, paint peeling off the areas they tried to hide with botched paint jobs, etc. they agreed IN WRITING that there IS a rising damp issue and that it couldn't be remediated during the period of our stay. Rising damp requires substantial and timely work to eradicate. They offered nothing other than to enjoy our holiday. The hot water only worked sporadically. They only permit check-in from 5pm yet are BARRAGING you with enquiries as to your check out time from the moment you check-in online and throughout your stay. Despite consistently notifying them that it would be 11am they had cleaning staff enter the property unannounced (!!!!) No buzzing inside/doorbell/etc. Clearly rushing us out of the property we paid a substantial sum for at 9am!!! If you look at reviews for the REMS agency you will see that guests consistently have issues with their properties and the agency consistently responds that they 'checked everything thoroughly before guests arrived'. Are all of the guests wrong?! Are all the appliances/facilities within these properties failing the second a guest comes in the door, as opposed to their infamous 'maintenance team'? Don't stay here, spare yourself. Plenty of lovely properties nearby.

Positive: We had a fantastic few days in this villa. There was 8 adults in our group, and ample space for everyone. The facilities in the villa are top notch, and the heated pool is great. All self service check in and check out and staff were very responsive to messages. Location wise it is a short walk to the seafront promenade where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, and supermarkets nearby too. Highly recommend this property.
